A stray dog crossing the road caused a deadly accident on Friday afternoon in Barangay Bonawon, Siaton, Negros Oriental.
The crash happened at around 3:55 p.m. Authorities identified the victim as Alias Don, 38, a resident of Barangay Sulodpan, Bacong. The bus driver was identified as Alias Rex, 37, from Bayawan City.
According to the Siaton Municipal Police Station, both vehicles were traveling in opposite directions when a dog suddenly crossed the road.
The motorcycle hit the dog, causing the rider to lose control and swerve into the opposite lane, directly colliding with a passenger bus.
Alias Don was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The incident highlights ongoing road safety concerns linked to stray animals in the Philippines.
Authorities are still investigating the case.
