The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of PNP Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III, will recall the issued firearms of police officers who fail to meet the required firearms proficiency standards.
Gen. Torre emphasized that any officer who does not pass the set classification will have their firearm confiscated and will be required to undergo mandatory re-training.
The directive covers all levels of the police force, including new recruits and top-ranking officials. This initiative is part of Gen. Torre’s push to ensure that all police personnel are fully capable, reliable, and ready for any operation.
The firearms proficiency test will be applied to all ranks to guarantee that officers meet the standard requirements for handling firearms.
The PNP said this measure is aimed at improving police performance, reducing operational risks, and ensuring public safety during law enforcement activities nationwide.
