Weather conditions across the Philippines are expected to remain varied today, with Metro Manila and much of the country facing the possibility of isolated thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported.
According to the 24-hour public weather forecast issued at 4:00 a.m. on April 3, 2025, two weather systems—northeasterly wind flow and easterlies—are influencing conditions across the country.
Thunderstorm Risks for Metro Manila and Beyond
PAGASA warned that Metro Manila and most provinces will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with localized rain showers or thunderstorms likely due to the prevailing easterlies.
While no immediate widespread weather disturbances are expected, forecasters advised residents to prepare for sudden downpours, which could trigger flash floods or landslides, especially in low-lying and mountainous areas.
Northern Luzon, particularly Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, and Aurora, will experience cloudy skies with light rain caused by the northeasterly wind flow. However, PAGASA noted that no significant impact is expected in these areas.
Meanwhile, the Ilocos Region and the remaining parts of the Cordillera Administrative Region will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain, also due to the northeasterly winds. Similar to Northern Luzon, these areas are not expected to face severe weather consequences.
Coastal Waters and Wind Conditions
For Northern Luzon, moderate to strong winds from the northeast will result in moderate to rough coastal waters, with wave heights reaching between 1.5 to 3.1 meters. Fisherfolk and small seacraft operators were urged to take precautions when venturing into open seas.
In contrast, the rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds coming from the east to northeast, leading to slight to moderate coastal waters, with waves ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters.
Temperature and Tidal Information
PAGASA recorded a temperature range of 24.7°C to 33.1°C in the last 24 hours, with the highest temperature reaching 33.1°C at 5:00 p.m. The lowest temperature, at 24.7°C, was recorded at 6:00 a.m.
For Metro Manila, today’s tidal information includes a high tide of 1.15 meters at 12:49 p.m. and a low tide of -0.21 meters at 9:35 p.m. Sunrise occurred at 5:51 a.m., with sunset expected at 6:09 p.m. The moonrise is forecast at 9:42 a.m., while the moon will set at 11:20 p.m., with 32% illumination.
PAGASA urged the public to stay updated on weather advisories and prepare for sudden weather changes, particularly in areas prone to thunderstorms.
