Service crew caught stealing P10,000 worth of underwear and beauty products at mall where she worked

A 24-year-old service crew member was arrested after allegedly stealing underwear and beauty products worth nearly P10,000 from a mall in Cebu City. The suspect, identified as “Grace,” was employed at the same mall and resides in Sitio Kauswagan, Barangay Basak Pardo.

Suspect Caught Trying to Escape with Stolen Goods

Security personnel detained the suspect as she attempted to leave the mall with multiple unpaid items. Among the stolen goods were three pairs of panties priced at P699 each, three bras at P699 each, five blouses priced at P599 each, two sunscreen bottles at P496 each, an acne product priced at P369, and a pair of active leggings worth P800.

Suspect Admits to Theft for Personal Gain

Police Major Romeo Caacoy Jr., head of Mabolo Police, confirmed that the suspect admitted to taking the items for personal use and planned to sell some of them. The incident raises concerns about theft within workplaces and the potential for employees to abuse their positions.
