The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has completed the restoration of several major transmission services in the Visayas grid, following the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck northern Cebu last month.
In a press release, NGCP announced that the Compostela–Daanbantayan 230kV Line 1 resumed operations on October 7, along with Line 2.
Additionally, the Daanbantayan–Tabango 230kV Line 2, a submarine cable connecting Cebu and Leyte, became fully operational on October 3.
The NGCP said restoration work continues for remaining lines that are still without power, including the Daanbantayan–Tabango 230kV Line 1.
The corporation also urged the public to coordinate with distribution utilities and electric cooperatives in addressing localized power interruptions.
NGCP assured that it will continue to monitor the situation closely and remain on alert for possible aftershocks.
