Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla announced that Justice Undersecretary Fredderick Vida will serve as the acting chief of the Department of Justice (DOJ).
This comes following Remulla’s appointment as the new Ombudsman, succeeding former Ombudsman Samuel Martires.
According to Remulla, it was agreed that Vida will temporarily take over as officer-in-charge of the department.
He added that there have been no discussions yet regarding his successor as Justice Secretary.
Meanwhile, Remulla shared that his oath-taking as Ombudsman is expected to take place tomorrow, Thursday, and that he will officially assume his new post on Friday.
