QCPD tightens security for EDSA Revolution commemoration

Security measures have been further intensified as protest actions continue during the commemoration of the EDSA People Power Revolution anniversary.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has deployed 1,100 police officers, while more than 1,600 force multipliers from the Quezon City Local Government Unit (LGU) have also been mobilized.

The heightened presence aims to ensure that gatherings, particularly those organized by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), proceed smoothly.

According to National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Major General Anthony Aberin, the initial hours of the events have been orderly.

He described the situation as generally peaceful, with no incidents or crimes reported that could affect the celebration.
