PRO-CAR seizes ₱72.9M drugs, arrests 3 in weeklong operations

Authorities in the Cordillera Administrative Region seized more than ₱72.9 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested three drug personalities in a series of operations conducted from March 16 to 22, 2026.

According to the Regional Operations Division of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR), a total of 32 operations were carried out during the period. These included 28 marijuana eradication operations, three buy-bust operations, and the service of one search warrant.

During the operations, authorities confiscated 86,500 fully grown marijuana plants, 420 marijuana seedlings, 212,930 grams of dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops, and 25,000 grams of marijuana stalks. Police also recovered 1.3 grams of shabu and 7 milliliters of liquid shabu.

The total value of the seized illegal drugs was estimated at ₱72,921,079 based on the Standard Drug Price.

Three individuals, all identified as Street Level Individuals, were arrested during the operations. They are now facing charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Authorities said investigations are ongoing to identify other individuals who may be involved in the illegal activities.

The largest portion of the seized drugs came from operations conducted by the Benguet Police Provincial Office, with an estimated value of ₱70.6 million. Additional operations were conducted in Kalinga and Mountain Province.

The Baguio City Police Office also reported operations that resulted in the arrest of the three suspects.

Under the leadership of Police Brigadier General Ericson D. Dilag, regional director, PRO CAR continues to strengthen its campaign against illegal drugs through the use of modern technology, including drones, in marijuana eradication operations.

The Philippine National Police reaffirmed its commitment to suppress illegal drugs and maintain peace and safety nationwide.
