PRC Ensures Blood Support for Earthquake Victims in Cebu

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) reaffirmed its commitment to immediately respond to the needs of those affected in Cebu.

According to the PRC, it has increased its blood supply to the University of Cebu Medical Center (UCMed) to assist patients injured in the magnitude 6.9 earthquake.

In a letter to UCMed, PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard J. Gordon approved the hospital’s request for additional blood supply to continue the treatment of the victims.

Gordon also assured that the agency has sufficient blood stock to meet both emergency and regular hospital requirements.

The PRC said it will continue coordinating with hospitals to extend assistance and maintain critical aid deliveries in Cebu.
