A flash flood displaced 26 families, or 207 individuals, in Pangantucan, Bukidnon on October 7, 2025. The incident occurred around 5 p.m., affecting residents of Barangays Adtuyon and Poblacion.
According to Christian Esoy of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), the Mulita River reached yellow-level flood status, heavily affecting United Village and Concepcion Village in the town center.
Esoy said residents were caught off guard because there was no rain in the central area of Pangantucan, though heavy rainfall in the uplands caused river water to rise and sweep away belongings.
Families were immediately evacuated to the municipal gymnasium after strong currents damaged several houses. Authorities confirmed there were no casualties or injuries.
Esoy added that food, clothing, and other essentials are the most urgent needs of the affected families.
Several flood control structures and a bridge connecting United and Concepcion villages were also damaged by the strong current. The MDRRMO continues to assess the extent of damage to infrastructure, agriculture, and housing in the affected areas.
Local officials are monitoring the situation and coordinating relief assistance for displaced residents.
