PNP to again skip muzzle taping of firearms for New Year

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reiterated its confidence in the discipline of its ranks, saying it will not implement muzzle taping of service firearms during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

According to PNP Public Information Office Chief Police Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño, Acting PNP Chief Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. did not include muzzle taping in the official memorandum for the holiday season.

Tuaño added that the PNP will instead enforce a one-strike policy against police personnel involved in indiscriminate firing.
