PNP Cordillera seizes ₱24.1M drugs, arrests seven

The Philippine National Police in the Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO-CAR) reported the seizure of illegal drugs worth more than ₱24.1 million following a series of anti-drug operations conducted from April 6 to April 12, 2026.

In a report from the Regional Operations Division, PRO-CAR said authorities carried out a total of 24 operations during the one-week period. These included 20 marijuana eradication operations, three buy-bust operations, and one implementation of a warrant of arrest.

Police said the operations resulted in the confiscation of 78,173 fully grown marijuana plants, 22 marijuana seedlings, 305 grams of marijuana seeds, and 70,610 grams of dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops. Authorities also seized 10.58 grams of shabu.

Based on the standard drug price, the total estimated value of the confiscated illegal drugs reached ₱24,187,249.

Seven individuals were arrested during the operations. Of those arrested, three were classified as High Value Individuals (HVIs), while four were identified as Street Level Individuals (SLIs).

The suspects are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police reported that the largest portion of seized illegal drugs came from operations conducted by the Benguet Police Provincial Office, which accounted for about ₱19.3 million worth of drugs and led to the arrest of one High Value Individual.

The Kalinga Police Provincial Office recorded the second-largest seizure, amounting to about ₱4.8 million worth of illegal drugs, along with the arrest of two Street Level Individuals.

Authorities from Mountain Province, Abra, and Apayao Police Provincial Offices also assisted in the operations, leading to additional arrests and confiscation of illegal drugs.

PRO-CAR said the operations highlight continued efforts by law enforcement agencies and partner communities to suppress illegal drugs and maintain peace and order across the Cordillera region.
