Philippines brings home 29 medals from Asian Games

Team Philippines wrapped up its 2026 Asian Games campaign in Nagoya, Japan, with a total of 29 medals.

The Filipino delegation won four golds, nine silvers, and 16 bronzes, including two gold medals secured by gymnast Carlos Yulo.

EJ Obiena also delivered a gold in pole vault, while Jeus Gabriel Derick Yape won the country’s other gold in virtual taekwondo.

The 29-medal haul marked the Philippines’ biggest medal haul in the Asian Games in six decades.

The last time the country won more medals was at the 1966 Asian Games in Bangkok, where the Philippines collected 42 medals.

The Philippines finished 17th overall in the medal standings, matching its ranking in the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
