The Philippine Army has deployed Task Force 92 to Maguindanao del Norte as part of preparations for the safe and peaceful conduct of the 2026 Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections.
A send-off ceremony was held at the headquarters of the 1st Brigade Combat Team, or 1BCT, at Fort Ramon Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija. The ceremony was led by Brig. Gen. Von Albert M. Sumergido, commander of the 1BCT.
In his message, Sumergido emphasized the importance of professionalism, discipline, integrity and respect for human rights among soldiers assigned to the mission.
He also urged the personnel to remain neutral and not favor any candidate or group while performing their duties in support of the democratic process.
Task Force 92 was formed from attached units of the 1BCT.
The task force will conduct security operations, community engagement and coordination with partner agencies as part of its mission in Maguindanao del Norte.
The deployment aims to help ensure that voters in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao can exercise their right to vote freely, safely and with confidence.
The Army said the troops are expected to carry out their responsibilities while maintaining neutrality in the electoral process.
The deployment is part of preparations for the 2026 Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections, with the task force assigned to support security and coordination efforts in the area.
The Army’s deployment comes with an emphasis on professional conduct, discipline, integrity and respect for human rights as troops perform their election-related duties.
