PH and Malaysian Defense Ministers prepare Trilateral Meeting with Indonesia next year

Philippine Secretary of National Defense Gilberto C. Teodoro, Jr. met with Malaysian Minister of Defense H.E. Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin to discuss preparations for the Philippines’ ASEAN chairship next year.

According to the Department of National Defense, the two officials also talked about holding the Trilateral Ministerial Meeting (TMM) between the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia in 2026.

Malaysia also reaffirmed its commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region through ASEAN and other trilateral mechanisms.

Meanwhile, both sides highlighted the importance of maintaining the Philippines–Malaysia defense partnership under the 1994 Memorandum of Understanding on Defense Cooperation, which remains the foundation for ongoing bilateral activities.
