PDEA raids drug dens in Davao region, 8 arrested

Authorities arrested eight individuals after separate anti-drug operations dismantled alleged drug dens in Mati City, Davao Oriental, and Panabo City, Davao del Norte.

In Mati City, four individuals were arrested after authorities raided an alleged drug den in the NHA area of Barangay Dahican at around 9:40 p.m. on March 12, 2026.

Operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 11 carried out the operation.

Among those arrested was a 39-year-old suspect identified as alias “Buching,” who authorities said maintained the drug den. Also arrested was his associate identified as alias “Snake.”

Two individuals identified as alias “Nante” and alias “Pat” were also apprehended during the operation after they were found inside the suspected drug den.

Authorities said Buching was first arrested after he allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu worth P1,000 to an undercover PDEA agent posing as a buyer.

Operatives recovered one sachet of suspected shabu from Buching and later seized about 11 grams of suspected shabu inside the drug den with an estimated street value of P110,000.

Meanwhile, another anti-drug operation was conducted in Panabo City, Davao del Norte at around 3 a.m. on March 13, 2026.

The operation took place in Purok Durian, Barangay Cagangohan and involved the PDEA Davao del Norte Provincial Office, the Panabo City Police Station and the Philippine Coast Guard Southeastern Mindanao.

Authorities arrested alias “Kakoy,” 40, identified as the alleged maintainer of the drug den, after he allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu weighing about one gram worth around P7,000 to a poseur-buyer.

Also arrested were his alleged associates alias “Weng” and alias “Malou,” and a visitor identified as alias “Jun-Jun.”

Authorities seized 12 sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 16 grams with an estimated value of P112,000, along with drug paraphernalia and marked buy-bust money.

The suspects will face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
