PDEA Davao Sur arrests drug personality, seizes P780K illegal drugs

A suspected notorious drug personality was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 11’s Davao del Sur Provincial Office and the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 11 on Sept. 8, 2026.

The operation was conducted at around 11:26 a.m. at Purok Mangga, Barangay Poblacion, Malalag, Davao del Sur.

The target, identified as alias “Dom,” 27, was arrested after allegedly selling one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, worth P7,000 to an operative acting as a poseur buyer.

Authorities also seized three heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu in varying sizes, with an approximate total weight of 57 grams.

The operation also resulted in the seizure of 66 plastic cellophane packets containing suspected dried marijuana leaves, five plastic cellophane packets containing suspected marijuana kush, and three vape cartridges containing suspected marijuana oil.

Assorted drug paraphernalia and the buy-bust marked money were also recovered during the operation.

PDEA Regional Office 11 Regional Director Atty. Benjamin G. Gaspi said the operation demonstrated the agency’s continued commitment to stopping the illegal drug trade.

“PDEA 11, together with our law enforcement partners, will remain relentless in pursuing drug personalities and protecting our communities,” Gaspi said.

The confiscated drug evidence was secured for proper documentation and laboratory examination.

The arrested suspect will face appropriate charges for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as amended.
