A female patrol officer shot her live-in partner, a police lieutenant, in the chest using her issued firearm around 8:30 a.m. on March 24, 2025, in Lansang Village, Barangay Sinawal, General Santos City.
According to reports, the suspect was seeking advice from her partner, Police Lt. Joseph, while having coffee in their rented home. She allegedly confided about being bullied at work, but his response—”You’re crazy, you belong in a mental hospital”—triggered her anger. Enraged, she shot him.
The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital and is currently recovering. Meanwhile, the suspect is now in police custody.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and are awaiting the victim’s decision on whether to pursue or drop the frustrated homicide charge against the patrolwoman, according to GenSan Police Director Col. Nicomedes Olaivar.
