Supporting Freshmen with Tablets and Allowances
The city also distributed tablets to 215 freshmen students enrolled in the CCO (City College of Ormoc), each receiving an allowance of ₱8,000 to assist with their educational expenses. The initiative, supported by the local government unit (LGU), aims to alleviate students’ financial burden and enhance access to digital resources, which is crucial for modern education.
Mayor Gomez emphasized the city’s dedication to investing in education and ensuring that Ormoc’s youth have the tools they need for academic success. She praised the graduates for their commitment and resilience, hoping these resources would inspire them to continue excelling in their studies.
City Officials Unite to Support Education
In addition to Mayor Gomez, former Vice Mayor Leo Carmelo Locsin Jr., several City Council members, and representatives from various city departments attended the ceremony. Notable attendees included SP Members Nolito Quilang, Peter Rodriguez, Edmund Kierulf, Jasper Lucero, and Lalaine Marcos. Youth leaders, faculty, and other city officials also attended, demonstrating unified support for educational progress.
