Number of super flu cases in the country rises to over 70

The number of people infected with super flu in the Philippines has continued to increase.

The Department of Health (DOH) has raised the tally, with its latest data showing that since December 2025, a total of 77 cases of influenza A(H3N2) subclade K, also known as super flu, have been detected.

These cases came from 326 cumulative influenza A infections that were sequenced from January to November of last year.

According to the DOH, out of 92 A(H3N2) cases, 77 were identified as subclade K.

The National Capital Region recorded the highest number of cases, with 23.

The agency explained that the increase should not be a cause for alarm, as all affected individuals have already recovered and no deaths have been reported.
