Newborn rescued from roof after being abandoned in eco bag

A newborn baby was found alive after being abandoned inside an eco bag on a rooftop in Calaanan, Canitoan, Cagayan de Oro.

Residents discovered the infant early this morning and immediately alerted authorities to the shocking situation.

The baby was still breathing when rescuers removed the eco bag from the rooftop and brought the child down safely.

Witnesses said the incident left the neighborhood shocked, fearing for the newborn’s safety and survival.
The community expressed anger and sadness, calling the act cruel and irresponsible toward a helpless child.

A local resident, Hailey Martinez, posted the incident online, condemning the parents and demanding legal action.

She questioned why the parents would abandon the baby instead of taking responsibility for their child.
