The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) issued a recommendation for the formal filing of complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte following her alleged death threats to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
NBI Dir. Jaime Santiago said they would recommend the inciting to sedition and grave threat complaints against Duterte.
He said that after more than two months of investigation, there was enough evidence to charge the vice president.
“Sabi ko nga limang abogado kami, ako na dating judge, yan po ang aming nagkakaisang kumbaga unanimous decision , na dapat itong mafile,” Santiago said.
The NBI has submitted the recommendations and evidence to the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Santiago said the ball is in the DOJ’s hands to decide what the next steps will be.
Vice President Duterte vehemently denied she issued kill order against the president, First Lady Liza Marcos and House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Duterte said her statement was conditional that it will only happen if she herself gets killed first.
