Motorcycle rider dead, 2 hurt after crashing Into car

A motorcycle rider was declared dead on arrival at the hospital while two of his passengers were injured after their vehicle crashed into a car in Altavas, Aklan on Sunday, May 4.

The accident happened around 3:00 p.m. in Barangay Lupo. The 45-year-old rider, whose name was not released, was with two passengers: a 42-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man, both residents of Jamindan, Capiz.

According to a police investigation, the motorcycle was traveling from Jamindan and was reportedly on its way to a hospital when the crash occurred. Upon reaching a curved portion of the road, the motorcycle allegedly veered across the centerline and collided head-on with a car approaching from the opposite direction.

The car was driven by a 28-year-old woman from Catmon, Altavas.

All three motorcycle occupants were brought to the hospital. The rider did not survive, while the two passengers sustained injuries. Authorities did not release the current condition of the injured individuals.

The female driver of the car is now under the custody of the Altavas Municipal Police Station as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police have not yet filed any charges and continue to look into the exact circumstances that led to the crash.
