More than 2,000 sacks of garbage, equivalent to approximately 60,000 kilograms of waste, were collected by the DENR Metropolitan Environmental Office (MEO)-West during the Manila Baywalk Dolomite Beach Clean-up Activity.
Among the waste materials recovered were clothes, slippers, plastic bottles and other plastic materials, styrofoam, wooden debris, and other garbage washed ashore.
The clearing operation was conducted in coordination with the Estero Rangers and other government agencies to immediately remove accumulated waste along the shoreline and help maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the Manila Bay area.
The DENR MEO-West continues to urge the public to help protect Manila Bay by practicing proper waste disposal, segregation, and waste management.
