Missing teen found as skeleton in boarding house, suspect identified

Authorities have confirmed that skeletal remains found in a boarding house in Purok 5, Barangay Apokon, belong to Quinnie Grace Arong, a 17-year-old girl who went missing on March 4, 2020.

The discovery was made on July 14, 2024, when the property owner was excavating a septic tank. Workers were shocked when they unearthed a human skull along with personal belongings, including a wristwatch, clothes, pants, shoes, and Arong’s favorite socks. A rope, believed to have been used to tie the sack containing her body, was also found at the site.

Tagum City Police Chief Lt. Col. Wildemar Tiu revealed that the suspect, whose identity was recently uncovered, posed as a photographer to lure young women under the pretense of making them models. Initial police observations suggest the suspect may have had predatory tendencies.

Authorities have intensified efforts to strengthen the case against the suspect. Tiu assured the public that they are working swiftly to secure an arrest warrant and urged women to remain cautious when dealing with unfamiliar individuals.
