The crime rate in Metro Manila decreased by 23.73% from November 2024 to mid-January 2025, according to NCRPO Director Police Brigadier General Anthony Aberin.
The drop in index crimes is attributed to intensified police visibility on major roads and the comprehensive deployment of personnel in high-risk areas, Aberin said in a statement.
As part of the anti-illegal drugs campaign, authorities seized illegal substances worth ₱153,293,391 during the two-month period. This highlights the ongoing crackdown on drug-related activities across the region.
Efforts against illegal gambling also yielded significant results, leading to the arrest of 3,806 suspects and the confiscation of bets amounting to ₱928,071. Additionally, 364 firearms were recovered in operations targeting crime-prone areas.
