Authorities said the continuing volcanic activity of Mayon has affected farming communities surrounding the volcano, causing concern among residents who depend on agriculture for their livelihood.
The Provincial Agricultural Office continues to monitor the condition of farms near the volcano to immediately provide assistance and intervention measures to affected farmers.
Local authorities have not yet announced the total number of additional farmers who may still be affected if volcanic unrest continues in the coming days.
Mayon Volcano remains under close observation as government agencies assess the impact of volcanic activity on agriculture and nearby communities in Albay.
Officials said monitoring operations are ongoing to determine the extent of damage and identify the immediate needs of affected farming areas.
The provincial government is expected to coordinate with concerned agencies for possible agricultural assistance and recovery efforts for farmers affected by the volcanic activity.
