Sen. Ping Lacson said he rejected an alleged offer for a “ceasefire” following his disclosure of what he described as anomalies involving infrastructure projects in Taguig City.
In a social media post, Lacson said there would be no “ceasefire” after he exposed the alleged irregularities.
The senator also shared an analogy, asking what kind of person would declare war while carrying only a toy gun and using saliva as ammunition.
He added that when confronted with a bomb, the same person would supposedly whisper a request for a “ceasefire.”
Lacson did not identify the individual he was referring to in his post. He also did not name the person who allegedly approached him or offered to end the dispute.
The senator did not provide additional details about the alleged ceasefire proposal or when it was made.
Earlier, Lacson said he intends to disclose all the “delicious” details gathered from five Taguig case studies during the Senate’s flood control hearing.
According to Lacson, the findings from the five case studies have already been submitted to the Office of the Ombudsman.
The planned disclosure is expected to focus on alleged anomalies involving infrastructure projects in Taguig City, which Lacson previously said were uncovered through the case studies.
The senator has not yet announced the specific date when the additional information will be presented during the hearing.
His latest remarks came as he reiterated that he would continue pursuing the matter despite the alleged offer to halt the conflict.
Lacson has maintained that he plans to present the information collected from the Taguig case studies as part of the ongoing discussions surrounding flood control projects and the complaints already submitted to the Ombudsman.
