Kabankalan’s Balicaocao resort faces noise backlash; Tourism Officer apologizes

A vlogger criticized Balicaocao Highland Resort for failing to enforce its designated quiet hours, prompting the city tourism officer to issue a public apology and commit to stricter regulations at the city-owned facility.

Vlogger Rain Diaries posted on social media on May 18, that campers continued to party loudly past 11 PM, despite the resort’s supposed quiet hours from 10 PM to 6 AM. “Campers ga-party with loud voices and loud music. Daw di man ta di ka relax man,” the post read.

“If you’re looking for a quiet camping place where you can relax and sleep peacefully, I don’t recommend this place,” the vlogger added. “But if you like the view of city lights, foggy morning, and medyo gahod, this place is perfect for you.”

Kabankalan City Tourism Officer Engineer Randy Siason apologized for the incident on Wednesday, May 21, and confirmed that this was not the first complaint the city had received about noise issues at the resort.

He said that his office already requested a legislative measure to strengthen the implementation of the rules at the resort.

Siason also encouraged visitors to file complaints directly with the City Tourism Office instead of turning to social media.

Located in Barangay Orong, Balicaocao Highland Resort is one of Kabankalan’s top tourist destinations, known for its city view, cool weather, and highland ambiance.

The city government said it would implement improved policies to ensure a more relaxing experience for future visitors.*
