Jealous rage: elderly man shoots, hacks wife over ‘bolitas’ remark

A 70-year-old man allegedly shot and hacked his 69-year-old wife in Barangay Sagay, Toledo City, Cebu, after she made a remark about experiencing “bolitas.”

In an interview with Brigada Cebu, the suspect, identified as alias Ferdie, admitted to attacking his wife out of jealousy. He is currently detained at the Toledo City Police Station, while his wife remains in critical condition at the hospital.

According to Ferdie, his wife had been rejecting his advances and confessed that she no longer loved him. This fueled his suspicions, leading him to attack her.

However, the suspect also admitted that he had been unfaithful in the past, believing his wife might have been seeking revenge.

After the crime, Ferdie attempted to escape but was caught by the police in a neighboring town. He is now facing a frustrated parricide charge.
