Jayson Tatum promises NBA comeback

Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum assured fans he will be ready to play in the upcoming NBA season, despite still recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon.

The injury, sustained during the Eastern Conference semifinals in May, sidelined the 26-year-old forward at a crucial stage of the playoffs. Speaking to reporters, Tatum emphasized that he is not rushing the recovery process, noting that his priority is achieving full health before stepping back on the court.

“I’m not forcing anything. What matters most to me is being completely healthy,” Tatum said. He added that he has been undergoing daily rehabilitation sessions to speed up the healing process.

In August, Tatum joined a practice session with the New York Patriots, where he participated without a walking boot or brace, signaling progress in his recovery. He revealed that he has been in constant communication with other NBA players who have suffered similar injuries, including Damian Lillard, Dejounte Murray, and Tyrese Haliburton, to gain insights on recovery methods and mental preparation.

The Celtics are set to open their 2025 season on October 22 at home against the Philadelphia 76ers. While Boston has not released an official medical update, Tatum’s assurance comes as welcome news for fans eager to see him back in action.
