Jayson Castro out for six months after devastating knee injury in PBA semifinals

TNT Tropang Giga will have to fight on without veteran guard Jayson Castro after he suffered a serious knee injury during Game 2 of their PBA semifinals series against Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.

Castro went down after an off-balanced layup, immediately requiring medical attention. He was rushed to the hospital for further evaluation.

According to TNT team manager Jojo Lastimosa, initial medical reports confirmed that Castro sustained a full-thickness patellar tendon injury in his right knee, requiring at least six months of rehabilitation and rest.

This is a massive blow to TNT, as Castro played a crucial role in their semifinals campaign. In Game 1, he scored 24 points, while in Game 2, he tallied 13 points and five assists before his injury. His absence will challenge TNT’s championship aspirations as they move forward in the playoffs.
