Japan has reaffirmed its opposition to Iran’s development of nuclear weapons amid rising tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.
In a press conference, Minoru Kihara, Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan, said that the development of nuclear weapons must not be tolerated, along with actions that could further destabilize the region.
Kihara emphasized the need for dialogue between the United States and Iran to resolve the issue—an initiative that Japan supports.
He added that Japan upholds values and principles such as freedom, democracy, and the rule of law.
