Isko Moreno gives 48-hour ultimatum for suspect in killing of his security escort to surrender

Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, mayor of Manila, has given a 48-hour ultimatum for a motorcycle rider involved in the shooting of one of his security escorts in Tondo to surrender.

In a live broadcast, Domagoso appealed to the suspect’s family to convince him to face authorities and help identify the gunman.

Aside from the deadline, the mayor also offered a P500,000 reward and possible protection under the Witness Protection Program (WPP) if the suspect cooperates with authorities.

Domagoso said the offers will remain available for 48 hours.

He also expressed confidence that the suspect will eventually be arrested, whether or not the individual involved cooperates.

The victim, George Capistrano, 56, a retired police officer who later became part of the mayor’s security team, was shot around midnight in Tondo, Manila.

He was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
