In a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro said Remulla’s work will be for the entire nation — not for any single group or side.

Castro also emphasized that the new Ombudsman and the Independent Commission on Infrastructure (ICI) can work together to expedite investigations into corruption cases.

According to her, the Ombudsman and the Department of Justice (DOJ) can move faster once the ICI provides complete documentation.

She added that there is no need to dissolve the ICI simply because a new Ombudsman has been appointed.

Castro stressed that the independent commission remains essential to focus on and gather documents related to corruption in flood control projects.
