Another shooting incident shook General Santos City on Wednesday, January 21, 2025, heightening public concern as violence continues to threaten safety in residential communities.
The shooting happened at approximately 5:35 p.m. along NLSA Road outside Camella Homes Barangay San Isidro in General Santos City.
Police identified the victim as alias Cris a 38-year-old resident of Barangay San Isidro General Santos.
The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen after an assailant fired a .45 caliber handgun during the attack.
Police Station Four initially considers personal grudge as the primary motive behind the shooting incident under active investigation by authorities.
According to Police Major Ivan Charles Abastillas investigators already spoke with the victim who named a possible suspect during questioning.
Authorities confirmed the victim works as a human resources manager for a poultry company operating in the city for years.
Investigators believe work related disputes may have contributed to the attack based on initial statements gathered by responding police officers.
Reports say the victim was traveling home when motorcycle riding suspects blocked him and opened fire along the roadway suddenly.
Despite his injuries the victim managed to reach the subdivision gate and sought help from security guards nearby immediately afterward.
Police said the victim remains in stable condition as operations continue to identify and arrest the suspects involved in shooting.
Authorities confirmed the shooting is already the fourth recorded incident in General Santos City so far this year.
