Leaders of the House of Representatives expressed their unwavering support to the leadership of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. through a manifesto signed on Wednesday.
Speaker Martin Romualdez and other House leaders led the signing of Manifesto of Support to the president which was presented during the fellowship night held in Malacanang Palace.
The house leaders said “the Constitution vests the executive power to the president making him the embodiment of the people’s will and the nation’s unity.”
They also vowed to uphold the Constitution by standing united with the president.
” At all costs, we will stand united with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr to uphold and defend the Constittuion, ensure the welfare of our people and safeguard the future of our nation”. The manifesto said.
The Manifesto of Support came out amid the pending impeachment complaints filed against Vice President Sara Duterte in the House of Representatives.
Prior to this, Former President Rodrigo Duterte called the oust moves against her daughter as political persecution.
He called on the Filipino soldiers to stop supporting the president and correct the wrongdoings in what he described as a “fractured governance”.
