Nagbabala ang mga health officials sa Estados Unidos na huwag uminom ng anti-parasitic drug bilang panggamot sa COVID-19.
Naglabas ng alerto ang Mississippi State Department of Health matapos makatanggap ng mga tawag ang Mississippi Poison Control Center kung saan karamihan sa mga ito ay may kaugnayan sa pag-inom ng Ivermectin.
Nakasaad sa inilabas na paalala ng Mississippi State Department of Health na bagama’t inaprubahan ang paggamit ng Ivermectin para sa hayop at tao, hindi dapat uminom ang sinuman ng walang reseta mula sa doktor.
“Animal drugs are highly concentrated for large animals and can be highly toxic in humans. Some of the symptoms associated with ivermectin toxicity include rash, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, neurologic disorders, and potentially severe hepatitis requiring hospitalization.”
Nabatid na hindi inaprunahan ng US Food and Drug Administration ang ivermectin bilang pang-gamot sa Covid-19 sa tao at maliban dito ang naturang gamot ay hindi anti-viral medication.
