Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla clarified today that the Philippine National Police (PNP) is not yet obligated to conduct a manhunt for Atty. Harry Roque. According to Remulla, the only action taken so far is the issuance of a subpoena by the House of Representatives.
Remulla emphasized that, as per his recollection, Roque has only been served a subpoena, which does not warrant a manhunt.
Despite this, Remulla noted that the PNP could still assist the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms of the House of Representatives if their assistance is required. This cooperation would be contingent on a formal request from the House.
The issue gained attention after Roque was reportedly spotted in an exclusive subdivision last September. However, authorities were unable to apprehend him at that time.
The clarification from Remulla comes amid growing public interest in the case and the legal actions being taken against Roque. The situation remains fluid, with potential developments expected as the investigation progresses.
