A drug den in Purok 2, Brgy. Panang, Wao,Lanao del Sur was dismantled in a buy-bust operation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) BARMM on Monday, leading to the arrest of seven individuals and the seizure of illegal drugs.
PDEA BARMM Director Gil Cesario Castro identified the suspects as Masigay Daut, 52, the alleged maintainer, along with Disinon Mabagur, Aliton Buat, Era Orab, Montasir Daut, Maulano Abad, and Dioselito Capucao. All are residents of the area.
The operation resulted in the confiscation of approximately 15 grams of suspected shabu worth ₱102,000, three dried marijuana plants, drug paraphernalia, and marked buy-bust money.
The suspects face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165). They are currently detained at PDEA BARMM facilities.
The raid was conducted with the support of the 55th Infantry Battalion and the Wao Municipal Police Station, underscoring the government’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs in the region.
The raid highlights the persistent challenges posed by drug dens in rural areas, with law enforcement agencies urging communities to remain vigilant and report illegal activities. The case will proceed to the courts, with authorities confident about pursuing justice.
