Two houses in Purok 13-B, Bulusan Street, Barangay Fatima, General Santos City were completely destroyed in a fire that broke out at around 2:30 PM on Thursday. The blaze reportedly started in one of the homes and quickly spread to the neighboring property, leaving families homeless and in need of immediate assistance.
Ferdinand Ramirez, the caretaker of one of the affected houses, was severely burned while attempting to save his tricycle from the flames. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
In the wake of the disaster, the victims are calling for support from the community. Those who wish to donate relief goods or assist the affected families can drop off their contributions at the Brigada News General Santos station, located at NLSA Road, Purok Bayanihan, Barangay San Isidro. The station has opened its doors to serve as a collection point for donations.
Local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire, while efforts to help the victims continue. The community’s support is crucial during this challenging time for the families affected.
