Boy impaled on fence in Cebu City

A 12-year-old boy was impaled on a fence in Barangay Calamba, Cebu City, causing a challenging rescue operation for local authorities.

Residents reported that the boy was playing a traditional Filipino game called “sipa” when his shoe flew onto the roof of a nearby house.

In an attempt to retrieve it, he climbed the wall and was impaled on the fence, sustaining severe injuries to his arm.

Local emergency responders arrived at the scene to rescue the boy. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital and underwent surgery to remove the metal rod from his arm.

Medical officials report that he is now in stable condition and recovering well.
