A woman motorist was involved in a crash after her motorcycle skidded on Governor Cuenco Avenue, Banilad St., Barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City at around 4:00 a.m. Friday, November 29, 2024.
The incident occurred when the rider accidentally struck a dangling wire on the road, causing her to lose control and slide. CCTV footage from the area shows the motorcycle veering out of control, before being hit by another motorbike following closely behind.
Eyewitnesses quickly rushed to help the victims. They were assisted by bystanders before emergency response teams arrived on the scene to provide medical attention.
While the crash caused significant alarm, the prompt response by the community and medical teams helped prevent further injuries. Authorities are investigating whether the dangling wire, which had been improperly left in place, was the result of negligence by utilities or a construction project.
