A dumptruck collided with a firetruck in Barangay Jimilian, Loboc, Bohol at midday on Monday, December 1, leaving a firefighter pinned inside the damaged emergency vehicle.
Police identified the firetruck driver as a 28-year-old firefighter from the province. The dumptruck was driven by a 38-year-old man, also a local resident. Photos from the scene showed the firefighter trapped inside the crushed front section of the firetruck.

According to the initial report from the Loboc Municipal Police Station, the two vehicles were traveling in opposite directions. As they approached a curved portion of the road, the dumptruck’s steering mechanism reportedly malfunctioned. This caused the truck to swerve and crash into the oncoming firetruck.
No fatalities were reported. Responders from several agencies worked together to free the firefighter from the wreckage before rushing him to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police said the dumptruck driver is now in custody while the investigation continues. Authorities are reviewing the vehicle’s condition and gathering statements to determine possible liabilities.
