Drunk rider crashes into garage in Antique

A rider and his passenger sustained injuries after crashing into a garage at around 8:52 p.m. on March 26 in Barangay Ubos, Valderrama, Antique.

Authorities identified the rider as alias Jenelle, 21 years old, and his passenger as alias Jay, also 21 years old.

Both individuals are residents of Barangay Arangote in Bugasong, Antique, and were traveling together on a motorcycle before the incident.

Initial investigation revealed the two were heading toward the town of Valderrama when the accident occurred along the roadway.

Police said the driver lost control of the motorcycle, allegedly due to being under the influence of alcoholic beverages.

The motorcycle continued forward and crashed directly into a garage, causing significant damage to the property and nearby structures.

Responding personnel from the MDRRMO Valderrama immediately transported the victims to the hospital for proper medical treatment of their injuries.

The strong impact of the crash damaged the garage fence and also affected a parked SUV within the property.

The garage owner expressed intent to file appropriate charges against the individuals involved following the incident and resulting damages.

Authorities continue reminding motorists to avoid driving under the influence of alcohol to prevent similar road accidents and ensure public safety.
