DOLE Strengthens Protection for Workers Facing Employment Issues

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has assured free legal assistance and support for workers encountering problems in their workplace.

Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma said any work-related concerns can be reported to the Bureau of Labor Relations or the Public Assistance and Complaints Unit (PACU).

He emphasized that services are free, immediate, and accessible with nationwide legal support.

From January to July 2025, the labor department—through PACU—has already assisted nearly 1,500 walk-in clients, providing free legal advice on issues such as illegal termination, monetary claims, and access to social benefits.

Laguesma guaranteed that DOLE will continue to strengthen the protection of workers’ rights and ensure fair resolution between labor and employment sectors.
