DOJ offers ₱1-Million reward for information on Cassandra Li Ong

A ₱1-million reward will be given for any information leading to the whereabouts of Cassandra Li Ong.

This comes after Senator Sherwin Gatchalian informed a Senate panel that Ong had been released from detention at the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City.

In a press briefing, Acting Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida said the Department of Justice (DOJ) is prepared to offer the ₱1-million reward for credible and actionable information that could help locate Ong.

According to Vida, authorities are aware that Ong has the capability to move around, travel, and enter or leave the Philippines without being detected. He admitted that the DOJ has been having difficulty tracking her movements.

At present, the agency has no sufficient information regarding Ong’s location, prompting the decision to offer a reward to help find her.
