The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has once again assured the public that there is no security threat against Sarah Discaya.
Discaya recently surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) following reports of an impending warrant of arrest against her in connection with a P96.5-million alleged ghost project in Davao Occidental.
According to DILG Public Affairs Undersecretary Donnie Puno, there is nothing to worry about regarding her safety. He added that they remain confident in the security measures of the country’s jail facilities.
Puno also noted that DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla continues to maintain close coordination with Justice Secretary Frederick Vida regarding the arrests, emphasizing that all legal procedures will be properly observed.
In closing, the DILG urged others allegedly involved in corruption related to flood control projects to surrender.
