Diddy begs courtroom artist to fix ‘koala bear’ sketch as judge warns him for bold moves at federal sex trial

Sean “Diddy” Combs is making headlines again—not for his music, but for an unusual courtroom request and conduct that nearly got him ejected from his ongoing federal sex trafficking trial.

According to Reuters, the embattled hip-hop mogul asked renowned courtroom sketch artist Jane Rosenberg to make him look less like a “koala bear” after seeing her rendering during a court break. Diddy reportedly approached Rosenberg and said she should “soften him up a bit,” expressing dissatisfaction with the way he was portrayed.

The comment, made during a highly publicized trial in Manhattan federal court, came in a setting where no cameras are allowed. That means sketches are the only visual record of the proceedings, and apparently, Diddy wasn’t pleased with how his image was captured.

Rosenberg, a veteran courtroom artist, explained that Diddy’s reaction wasn’t out of the ordinary. She shared that even prominent political figures have expressed concerns about their courtroom appearances. Rudy Giuliani once told her to make him look less like a dog, while Donald Trump quipped about needing to “lose some weight” after seeing his sketch during his civil fraud trial. Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., went further, joking that he wanted to look “sexy” in his court drawing.

In fact, Rosenberg noted that Trump Jr. even complimented her viral sketch of crypto fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried, saying it made him look like a superstar. Though she admitted that it wasn’t the most accurate likeness, it caught the internet’s attention.

Diddy nearly thrown out of court

Meanwhile, the courtroom antics didn’t end with the sketch drama. Judge Arun Subramanian reprimanded Diddy on Thursday for what he described as inappropriate nonverbal communication with jurors. The judge claimed Combs had been “nodding vigorously” and making extended eye contact during testimony.

Subramanian warned Diddy’s legal team that if such behavior continued, the court might issue a limiting instruction—or even remove him entirely from the courtroom.

Observers also noted a strange moment during Wednesday’s session when Combs appeared to silently signal to a juror about feeling cold, a breach of decorum that didn’t go unnoticed despite the strict courtroom rules.

Combs has denied all charges against him, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transporting individuals for prostitution. His legal team continues to challenge the prosecution’s claims, while more witnesses are expected to testify in the coming days.

As the trial unfolds, the spectacle inside the courtroom has proven nearly as dramatic as the serious allegations at the center of the case. GLOBE Magazine recently described the proceedings as both chaotic and revealing, drawing further attention to Combs’ shifting public image amid the storm of legal troubles.
