Alex Eala enters second US Open main draw with career-high ranking

Alex Eala heads into her second US Open main draw with a much higher ranking and more experience under her belt.

The 21-year-old Filipina is currently ranked No. 20 in the WTA rankings, a significant jump from No. 75 when she made her main draw debut at the US Open last year.

During her debut, Eala made history by becoming the first Filipina to win a US Open main-draw match after defeating then-world No. 15 Clara Tauson of Denmark in a three-set thriller.

Although she fell in the second round, Eala returns to Flushing Meadows as a more experienced player following a strong campaign on the WTA Tour.

The Filipina tennis star will look to build on her recent success and reach another milestone in her second US Open main draw appearance.
